The Smith & Wesson M&P22 is an internal hammer fired semi-automatic pistol with a threaded barrel chambered in 22LR that is perfect for training but accurate enough for target shooting. This pistol is not a conversion of a standard center fired M&P but rather a ground up design that is slightly smaller and specifically built for the 22LR cartridge with a focus on reliability. Anyone who has shot a 22LR caliber pistol knows the inherent reliability of the cartridge is relatively poor compared to a center fired pistol. Smith & Wesson has built a pistol that defies the odds with an average of 500 rounds between failures. This light weight pistol features an aluminum slide with windage and elevation adjustable 3 dot sights. The M&P22 uses a straight blowback design with a single action 6lb trigger and a well placed ambidextrous manual thumb safety.
